“The Waiting” (PYC 2016) swept me off my feet. It’s sprightly! Spiritually refreshing!
Two weeks have gone by, leaving PYC’s trail of thrill and tranquil. For me, it wasn’t just a spiritual hype. The Philippine Youth for Christ conference awakened a deeper persuasion for a closer walk with ‘The One’ I’ve been waiting for! I can’t wait for next year for “The Appearing” (PYC 2017).
I tried to chase my musings — everything sank in. PYC 2016 has made a huge impact in my devotional lifestyle and my grateful spirit sings for it! I can’t help my greater spiritual appetite: hungering and thirsting for spiritual truth, for spiritual fellowship and for solitude (serenity at heart). I praise God for the providence — Devoted and set-apart speakers, superb program/break-out sessions, fellowship and friendship! A foretaste of heaven indeed!
“God delights to honor desperate prayers, especially when His people press together in unity, standing with faith upon His Word. Yes, heaven moves when God’s people pray!”
It’s an enthralling experience to have tasted and seen God’s greatness! He’s truly faithful to His promises! We’re delighted to have seen PYC being featured as one of the answers to prayers in the recently concluded 100 Days of Prayer (United Prayer) which culminated at PYC.
It doesn’t end there, we also had 10 Days of Prayer as a special prayer program (united prayer) for the PYC delegates and their respective churches and ministries. Special prayers for the communities visited were also offered.
I’ve cherished the thought that God called me to be His apprentice in publication ministry. I’ve been blessed with the privilege to be involved in publishing the maiden issue of ‘The Witness: Awakened to Attest’ in “Experience” (PYC 2014).
Surprisingly, our team then were reunited for another almost sleepless night. Praising God for the productivity, three issues were published.
I appreciate my dedicated team for their hard work. While we were working on the content, the there was a united prayer and praise going on, so we were also blessed, even we were not directly involved.
Here’s my epiphany:
Waiting for The Waiting
Have you experienced how it is to be engaged?
I have not. Somehow, I’ve got a hint of how thrilling and fulfilling it is, since I’ve witnessed surreal engagement surprises. I’ve seen and felt the enthrallment of my younger sister when she got engaged and got married. I’ve got a foretaste of the fascinating feeling of the sweet anticipation for the wedding day during the year of planning and preparation.
Having the wonderful privilege to have assisted a lot of weddings (for the nth time), I wonder how is it to wait for that special day.But each of the wedding events has its own unique love story and set-apart ‘waiting story’. A friend will actually get married at 2:00 PM today, and I can’t wait to witness it!
Soon and very soon, our Bridegroom would finally fulfill His promise to come again and to be with us throughout eternity. Yes! Definitely “may forever”! The beauty of it, each of us would have a delightful “love story” to tell. Each would also have a peculiar ‘waiting story’.
Meanwhile, early this year, I was invited to sing in a banquet. A close friend was invited as the speaker. I was fetched at home earlier and came to the venue ahead of her. So, I waited in the music room, too excited for the reunion after almost a year.
I requested someone to inform me once she arrives. I waited for more than 30 minutes, wondering what caused her delay. Suddenly, a loud voice from outside caught my attention: “Calling Ms. Lailanie, please come to the venue, Sister Sandra has been waiting for you!”
While thinking I’ve been eagerly waiting for my friend, she’s been there, waiting elatedly! In retrospect, I realized that while thinking that I’ve been patiently waiting for Jesus’ soon return, it was I whom He’s been waiting for – with a great longing to His love that is greater than life.
PYC 2016: THE WAITING has been a tremendous blessing! My grateful spirit sings for this musing. Ellen White wrote: “Long has God WAITED for the spirit of service to take possession of the whole church so that everyone shall be working for Him according to His ability.”
In 2014, I didn’t experience the entire “EXPERIENCE”. In 2015, I didn’t “ENGAGE” in the entire conference. In 2016, “THE WAITING” waited for me! (I missed a lot from the first two days’ program). I am not proud of it and regretted it a lot! How about you?
Our Bridegroom is about to take off His garment as our High Priest in the Most Holy Place in the Heavenly Sanctuary. While He’s been longing to put on His Kingly Robe for the Wedding Day, He’s painstakingly and patiently waiting for us to fully give up our filthy garments of selfishness, self-sufficiency and self-righteousness and replace it with wedding garments, washed by the blood of His Righteousness.‘NO GREATER LOVE’ indeed! Would you gratefully accept it?
Waiting Til The Appearing!
For sure, those who’ve attended the conference have their own testimonies to share. I would love to know your personal experience, how God has blessed you. Kindly contact me to be featured, or send stories to my e-mail add: firstname.lastname@example.org.
I haven’t told yet about our outreach experience! The details of #MAYFOREVER would be included in the next blog. Keep posted!
